A downloadable experiment

Hextraptions is a prototype for hexagonal puzzle game based on digital logic and programmable toys. Only the core mechanics exist.

Some building blocks and toys are scripted in Lua, others can be made and modified within game. Toys can have components (sight, compass, radio, thruster...) to make sense of their surrounding and to move around.


Player can enter any (non-scripted) toy. Within is the same hexagonal grid on which the inputs, outputs and logic blocks are placed to create wiring. The toy will immediately behave as it is wired.


There's still ton of work remaining on GUI, sounds & music, saving & loading, and making an actual game out of it.


The project is abandoned. I might get back to this idea one day...
